Administration Standard 2.1
Performing a software upgrade
Perform a software upgrade if you have determined that you are using
out-of-date software. For instructions on determining if you need to perform an
upgrade, refer to “Verifying the firmware and software version” on page 191.
Note: Over an IP network with low delay and packet loss, Flash download times
to remote M39xx digital telephone sets are comparable to PBX wired
downloads.
Upgrading the Configuration Manager software
To upgrade the Configuration Manager software:
1 Navigate to the directory that contains the upgrade files you extracted.
2 Double-click on the setup.exe file.
3 Follow the prompts on the screen.
Result: The InstallShield installs the software, overwriting the previous
version.
ATTENTION!
Do not ignore any warning messages that the
InstallShield displays about versions of files (such as
DLL files) that already exist on your PC. If you
overwrite these files, you may inadvertently cause
other applications on your PC to stop working.
